Program 19/8/2017

We have undertaken great efforts to offer you an attractive program. In the meantime, most of the program points are fixed. A few more are still in work.

The current status can be found in the following overview:

  • 1.Event Highlights
Inside and outside the hangar, inside and outside the event location.
  • Zeppelins
    19-04-2017

Zeppelins starting and landing all day

The motto of the event is, of course, the Zeppelin. The whole day you will see the zeppelin starting and landing as well as of course in the air (unless there is a storm or a thunderstorm).

  • Zeppelin flight to win
    19-04-2017

    10 Zeppelin flights to win

On the day of the event, we will be giving away ten Zeppelin flights.

Participants must be in possession of an event ticket.

The flight must still be entered during the event day.

The exact details will be determined and announced in good time.

  • O.C.B. (Original Can of Beans)
    19-04-2017

The Original Can of Beans from the very first Geocache

For some, it is only a rusty can, for others it is something special and something like a "holy grail": the "Original Can of Beans", also often abbreviated as O.C.B..

With us you can see them for the first time in Germany and make your own judgment!

In May of 2000, Dave Ulmer, the "inventor" of Geocaching, placed this can in the very first cache. Today it is the only survivor remaining from the first cache.

TEAM 360 (Jeff Holliday) has taken over the can and is doing everything possible to get it as best as possible.

The O.C.B. is trackable under the code TBGJAA and is the most frequently discovered travel bug in the world.

As part of a small show, we will present O.C.B. together with Jeff. If you like, you can then discover it afterwards.

  • 2.00 p.m.: Ingo Oschmann
    19-04-2017

The "hunter of the hidden treasure" live on our stage

    Ingo Oschmann

Ingo Oschmann is a German comedian, entertainer and magician, who is also on the stage as a presenter and actor. In addition, he is a passionate geocacher and has published his book “Hunters of the Hidden Treasure” in the summer of 2016.

So far (as of November 2016) he has never been on the stage of a geocaching Mega-Event. After talking to him and offering our platform, we could convince him to change this at the latest at our event on 19 August 2017 in the Zeppelinhalle.

There, he will be on our live stage with a geocaching performance especially created for our event.

We are looking forward to meeting you together with Ingo Oschmann at “Project Let’s Zeppelin 2017”.

    German language only.

  • T5-climbing in the Zeppelinhangar

This opportunity never existed before, and probably will not be repeated so quickly:

In cooperation with our partner High Solutions, you have the possibility to participate in a T5 climbing action in the Zeppelinhangar under professional guidance and security.

The professionals from High Solutions will show you how to do it and monitor your ascent to the hangar.

    You should not miss this.

  • Reviewer stand
    19-04-2017

    Reviewers introducing themselves

We are very pleased that reviewers are represented with an own stand.

Have you always wanted to know who is behind the reviewers' nicks, oversee compliance with Groundspeak policies, and unlock your listing?

Here you have the opportunity to get to know some reviewers and have a discussion with them.

  • 81 matrix
    19-04-2017

81er Matrix rund um den Bodensee

For some of geocachers, it is an objective to get the 81 matrix filled. "More advanced" geocachers may have the X-th repetittion on their plan.

Here at Lake Constance there is the possibility to do both.

In cooperation with local cachepats on site, 81 Mysteries with all possible D / T combinations are placed around the whole Lake Constance. The first of these already exist.

So you can work specifically on your 81er matrix. Or you solve the puzzles completely independently of any matrix thought and just look for the caches.

For the individual "Z" with 10 Mysteries, bookmark lists are available:

    Let's Z 01-10 Friedrichshafen

  • Birre's high quality TBs
    19-04-2017

Test your skills when opening the brilliant Birre constructions

    Birre+Orgateam

Aus Birre, from Belgium, has already visited a number of other Megas with his "High Quality TBs" and is also taking on the TBs as a motorhome geocacher. If you do not know him yet, you should look at him and his TBs.

Then you'll understand why the TBs are described with the addition "High Quality". Most of them are built in thick stainless steel, which means they practically are unbreakable. They also have to be, because they go through a lot of hands and with some TBs you have to use some force.

Each of the TBs is different and can only be described as ingenious. This is true not only because of the idea, but also of the manual implementation.

During the event, you can take the TBs and try to open them. This is more or less tricky and usually takes some time and a good idea. If you do not have it after some time, there is already a tip. What follows is in any case an "aha"-experience.

As a reward, you can then enter into a book after presenting the opened TBs and discover the TB "legally".

  • Inflated show
    19-04-2017

Wizard Gradi Wohlo creates and distributes the "most impossible" balloon figures

    "Aufgeblasene" Show

During the event, wizard Gradi Wohlo provides young and old with his "inflated show" and artful balloon figures for fun and entertainment.

Gradi Wohlo mingles with the visitors and drives his jokes with young and old.

    Let yourself be surprised.

  • Labcaches
    19-04-2017

    Labcaches

    Labcache

Kein Mega-Event ohne Labcaches. Auch wir haben natürlich welche in Vorbereitung rund um unser Motto, die Ihr dann für begrenzte Zeit suchen und loggen könnt.

  • Children's amusement
    19-04-2017

Entertainment also for the younger event visitors

    Zeppelin-Hüpfburg

We also thought of the younger geocachers e.g. with a Zeppelin Olympiade with several stations at the end of which a surprise for each participant beckons.

You can also really exhale in the exclusive Zeppelin bouncy castle.

  • Signal the frog
    19-04-2017

    Signal + The Dartmoor Pixies

(Almost) no mega-event without "signal the frog", the official geocaching mascot.

Signal will be in life size with us on the premises and be available at any time for photos with you.

On the TB-homepage of Signal it is said:

    History

Signal was created in the early days of Geocaching.com as a way to represent the combination of technology and nature. Since then, Signal has become beloved by the geocaching community and appears on geocaching-related gear, trackables—and even in-person at some Mega-Events. If you see him, make sure to give him a high-five and discover his tracking code.

    But why a frog?

If you'll notice, Signal isn't just a frog, he's a frog with an antenna attached to his head. We searched through the animal kingdom and we couldn't find any other antenna-enabled animals besides Signal, so the choice was easy.

  • Free shuttle for event visitors
    19-04-2017

    Shuttle Service

An event shuttle specially equipped for the event with low-floor technology and fold-out wheelchair ramps brings the participants comfortably back into the city and back again.

    The buses will shuttle every 10 minutes between eventlocation (N 47 40.673 E 009 30.310), harbour station (N 47 39.088 E 009 28.993) and city station (N 47 39.163 E 009 28.428) on Saturday, August 19, 2017 (between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.).

  • Shopping mile
    19-04-2017

As is the case for a mega event, there is of course a shopping mile, where you can relax and inform yourself about the latest trends and equipment, coins and other geocaching utensils.

With us you will find well-known traders who will not be represented at any other event in 2017.

You can find the currently registered dealers here on our page: Standbetreiber.

On such a mega-event you get hungry and thirsty.
